Flute Lessons - Tucson, AZ: Drawing upon over 20 years of professional performance and teaching experience, lessons are custom-tailored for each student. Weekly instruction includes music fundamentals, school concert music preparation, and solo repertoire. Dr. Renée Bond is experienced working with both children and adults.
A sought after teacher, her students have consistently garnered top honors in the Tucson Regionals and Arizona All-State competitions. In addition, many have been distinguished with music scholarships and awards.
About: Renée's dedication to the flute has led her to thousands of performances in over 12 countries and throughout the United States. She began flute studies with Katheryn McElrath in California where she was principal flute in Berkeley Youth Orchestra, Oakland Youth Symphony Orchestra, Young People's Symphony Orchestra, and toured internationally with Bay Area Wind Symphony.
She received three degrees in flute performance: BM/University of California graduating with Honors and Distinction in the Major, MM/The Boston Conservatory where she was awarded the President's Scholarship, and DMA/University of Arizona, where she was the recipient of numerous grants and awards. She has studied with multiple teachers including Julius Baker, Ransom Wilson, and Paula Robison.
An experienced orchestral musician, she also served as flute/piccolo for the United States Army Europe Premiere Band. Founding Member of the Silverwood Duo, the ensemble made their New York debut in Carnegie Hall and have released three CD's: Collage, Wedding Music Selections, and Noel. She has taught at the University of Arizona, the Heidelberg School of the Arts, and contributed to the Tucson Flute Club, OMA, the Imaginarium Project, and was a featured artist for the National Flute Association.
